Jack Frisch
playing since fall of 1984.

My interest in playing bass took on a strong direction after seeing Jaco Pastorius at a demonstration event for the, then new, hartke metal cone speakers and Guild's new Pilot bass in 1985. After seing him I knew I wanted to play bass in a funk or jazz setting. I Later hung with him a few minutes here and there and shared a quick finger excercise lesson in 1986.

Otherwise I'm self taught.

First bass was a Westone, I bought a 1984 Fender Jazz (a reissue of a 63') a year later. Weeks after getting it a friend and I had went to see Jeff Andrews with Mike Stern at the 55 bar in New York. Jeff gave me the number of his bass guy and he pulled my frets and coated the neck. I mainly play this bass all the time. Its all stock except for the fretless job on it. Other players tell me its one of the best fretless they ever heard.

My fulltime work is as a freelance Art Director and Designer in the music industry specailizing in websites, cd packaging, advertising and photgraphy for Jazz musicians and record labels in New York and all around the world.
My recent work is the design of Marcus Milers 2001 release, M Squared. Clients included Will Lee, Marcus Miller, Mark Egan, Christian Mcbride and Hiram Bullock to name a few a swlel as many other players. See my site,
jackfrisch.com, for more info, samples of desings and a complete client list. jackfrisch.com

I am presently looking for any vintage lefty jazz bass parts in any condtion. I'm a serious buyer..so let me know what you have. I am a Fender Jazz player always but wouldn't mind getting a all maple fretless precision bass. The
ones that have a maple fretless fingerboard/neck and body.
