There's not a lot to tell, actually. We have lived in China since 2004.

My gear? Well, you might think that living here would give me access to lots of different makers of left handed basses,

as I know a lot of them are made here under license, but it came down to one of my friends looking online for me.

I managed to get a no-name (it says GROOVIN' USA design) bass that was originally destined for Europe but failed because the name on the headstock is upside down!

I paid 700 RMB for it, about 80 euros, so really cheap, and my good friend who has played bass for years says that it sounds better than his Fender Jazz...

I think he is trying to be kind to me!

I coupled it with a Line6 LD150 combo amp, so I have enough 'grunt' to do small gigs here. The LD150 is lovely, and very versatile, especially for a beginner like me.

I play in a band made up of teaching staff, five in total. We play some covers (mostly blues and old style rock), and some original stuff. We have been together for about three months.
