Hi Arni, it is a great idea to create a Lefty bass player web site.

My name is Michel Paré and I play bass from 1978; from over my half century years old, I always play music as a hobby, but sound pro.(as per public comments)

My first bass was a Reverse Rickenbaker; not very user friendly!

In 1981, I buy a Lefty thru neck body bass, made with bird eye maple, the brand is LADO SOLO IV and I always play with this heavy weight bass until 2006. This bass is now at the Pierre Laporte shop for a total rebuilt (change the neck for a new P.L.) It is a one year project.

I ordered a Jazz Bass American deluxe, alder body, samarium cobalt pickups (hate it) rose wood finger board. After few month of playing with this bass, I remove and change all the original electronic for 2 Dimarzio Ultra Jazz with the wiring of a jazz bass 1975. Now the bass sound to my taste.

My amps are: Ampeg SVT 4 pro and an Ampeg SVT 5 pro used in bi-amp.
Speakers and boxes: Trace Eliot 4 x10'' and Trace Eliot 1 x 18''

I love Rush, Led Zep, SRV, Hendrix, McCartny, Clapton, Travers and many others included jazz bands.

I joint few photos for now and I will upgrade soon when I will get my new P.L. Lado.
Pierre Laporte will built for me in 2012, a manouche acoustic fret less bass made with the maple that I have on my maple farm.
All the guitars you see on the wall, are right hand guitars, I learned to play guitar on a right hand guit with the bigest string down; I play inverted; my friends
didn't understand how I can play same like that!

Cheers!
