Tom D'Angelo

Nashville,TN / USA

I'm an electric/acoustic uprite bassist currently living in Nashville, Tn. I relocated to Nashville from NYC (Brooklyn, to be exact) about 5 years ago and it's easy to see why so many guys sort of re-start their careers here in Nashville. Some of the best musicians I've ever worked with and heard, live here. It's definatley the place to "kick ass and get your ass kicked" so it's been a great learning/networking experience.

I enjoy being involved and active in a lot of different styles of music. I've been doing some tour stuff, but mainly sessions, musical theater and an occasional symphony date. It's always been a thing with me to play stuff that is at opposite ends of the scale from one another and hopefully become a better musician because of it (or at least not get killed trying). I also just really love the whole learning process of doing alot of different styles of music.

I've had the pleasure of performing and/or recording with Steve Azar, Buddy Jewell, Dan Tyminski, James House, Ray Scott, Julie Roberts, Larry Stewart, Colt Ford, Johnny Hiland, Don Ellis, Michelle Cupit, Jerry Cupit, Billy Yates, Jimmy Fortune, Alan O'Day, Nashville Session Players/Rich Aberdeen, Denny Martin, Lance Stinson, James Haymer, Derrick Allen, Carlton Collins, Peter Collins, Justin Niebank, Ben Fowler, Phil Wolfe, Michael Hanson, Chad Wilson, Memarie, Brad and Shelly, The Utica, Saratoga, Albany and Palm Beach Symphony Orchestras as well as others. I have also played bass on commercial jingles such as Harley Davidson, Lithia Motors, Exxon Mobiles "On the Run" the soundtrack to the film "Americanizing Shelly" and the TV documentary "Second Crossing-The Story of the Mississippi Bridge".

I'm available for all sorts of sessions & gigs. Drop me an e-mail or call 615 830 6739.

Thanks and all the best to you!

1972 Fender Precision ( I've owned this bass for as long as I can remember)
1978 Fender Precision (it's a stock sunburst with a maple neck/fingerboard)
1973 Fender Jazz bass (Black. It has the bound and blocked maple board and is 100% stock and in mint condition)
1975 Fender Jazz bass (White.Another bound and block neck but with a rosewood fingerboard)
1977 Fender Jazz bass (Fiesta Red. Also bound and block with a rosewood board)
Sadowsky NYC Vintage J5 bass (in 59' burst)
My upright basses are my Kolstein 3/4 Orchestral bass and I recently purchased a Shen SB80 laminate bass. ou can actually get them left handed. Upton bass as well as the Shen factory will build the bass left handed as a special order. It costs a bit more but well worth it.
As far as amps, I'm using 2 GK 1001RB heads with the GK Neo 4X10 cabs for live stuff and for studio, the only thing I use is an Avalon U5 DI unit (which I LOVE!!!)

GK-400rb as well as an 800RB for larger venues. I use them for both my electric and upright basses.

Mesa Boogie 1X15" and a Hartke 2X10" for the high
