-Urith Myree

Urith Myree was born in Queens, New York and is now based on Long Island, New York. Born into a family that appreciated music on every level, Urith was exposed to many different artists and musical styles. At 7 years old she picked up the bass and it has remained her chosen instrument. Her main influences are Stanley Clarke, John Paul Jones, Steve Harris, Cliff Burton and Geddy Lee.

She was a member of One Step Beyond, who over the course of its existence (1990-2001) received much praise and achieved accomplishments such as having their music featured on over 100 radio stations internationally, the X-Games, two indie films and Howard Stern. Their self-titled CD was produced by Grammy-nominated artist Joaquin Lievano. She has also done session and live work for other local artists.

Currently, Myree plays with Dormitory Effect, an all-female Metal act featuring One Step Beyond vocalist Susan Wendelken, former Perseverance guitarist Meredith Herrmann and Neutron Cafe/Sympathetic Magic drummer Gee. Dormitory Effect has already played the second Rockrgrl Conference in Seattle, NXNE in Toronto, Canada and a live performance on Jim Breuer's radio show "Jim Breuer Unleashed".
