I was born on June 22nd,1958 in Corpus Christi, Texas. I started playing the
electric bass in 1976. I loved the styles of McCartney, Entwistle, and Squire. Another
player who had a big influence on me was Dee Murray(R.I.P.), who played with Elton
John at the time. I started on a borrowed righty Fender Jazz I played upside-down,E
string on the bottom. Still play that way. Started a punk band named The Stiffs. Was
a big fan of Bruce Foxton of The Jam.
I now live in Austin,Texas. For several years I played a Hamer 12-string bass in a
band called 9Worlds, which did a lot of touring. Currently I play in a Beatles trib
band-The Eggmen. www.eggmen.com I have always been a fan of Rickenbacker basses, and
I have three.

"Why do you play your bass strung upside down"?
In high school I would sneek out of the house around midnight to a church a few blocks
away. Then crawl in an unlocked rear window. They had a Fender Bassman amp and a right-handed
Fender Jazz Bass. Being left-handed I played the bass upside down. I'd play till around
4 A.M. then get home to grab a few hours sleep before school.
