Traditions

You can think what you want. A lot years before, as a young guy, I thought that traditions are antiquated. But when I´m getting older and older, traditions will take more place in my live.

One of this is a tradition which repeats the last years is a Christmas DVD, I´m watching with a lot of volume with the younger members of my family.

"Christmas Eve" with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and members of the british Rockband Savatage. That´s sounds!

Getting curious? If you are, I recommend:

"Christmas Eve in Sarajevo" http://www.trans-siberian.com/multimedia/video.shtml

I wish you all a peaceful Christmas!

Stay in touch!

If you don´t know it, please take a look on Google-Video and enjoy his bass playing: The WHO; 5:15, Bass-Solo

Tom Morrison (France) has send me following information about lefty Fender Deluxe Jazz Basses:

"Fender have just started to produce the Mexican Active Deluxe Jazz Bass in Left hand. For the moment I believe that only South Paw Guitars in
Texas have any for sale (unforntunately only in black from what I can see), and they are not yet in the Fender catalogue. I assume the left handed
version shall be announced shortly as part of their 2006/2007 winter releases. Great news for those of us that can't afford the American version
or require a good inexpensive work horse!

Fender Mexican Active Deluxe Jazz Bass
I have read the Harmony Central reviews of the Mexican Active Jazz Bass (for righties) and apparently its a great buy! Lets hope we see them over in Europe soon, and equally that Fender use their imagination concerning the color options (Vintage white for example !!!! :-)) ).

...I had news from Fender that the MIM Deluxe Active J Bass shall be manufactured in Sunburst & Black (yes I know, the are not very imaginative are they, what about Vintage White like for righties?). The first ones are coming out of the factory at the
moment."

Michael DeVincenzo, Salt Lake City Utah, USA, is the lucky owner of a dream! He´s gitting his Alembic "Raging Bull" after 8 month of waiting!

"I am writing to share with you my joy at achieving a life long goal. If you go to the Alembic site and see the Custom of the Month you will see my brand new Baby! It sounds and plays every bit as nice as it looks. I had to sell off most of my collection to be able to afford this wonderful instrument but it was worth it. I have dreamt of a custom lefty Series 2 bass since the mid seventies when I first saw Stanley Clarke play. Unfortunately, as my income slowly rose, so did the price of Alembics! It has taken me all these years to finally get in a position to own one.

This is a great website for operating instructions of amps, guitars and basses and more! Please check out http://www.bassemporium.com!

Most of us know MusicMan basses. I love these basses and was looking for a pre Ernie Ball Stingray. Whereas Ernie Ball Musicman basses can be dated by the serial number, the pre Ernie Balls can´t!

If you want to know how old your pre Ernie Bass MusicMan bass is, you have to remove the neck for the body. Inside you will find a neck and a body stamp with the date of production. But you have to do this very carefuly and not each owner wants to do this with his baby.

Each MusicMan bass has its serial number, mostly be seen on the bridge. But these serial number don´t gives you a statement.

Garvin form Australia has build up a enormous data base of pre Ernie Ball serial numbers in combination with the dating stamps inside. This is a very informative website all around the MusicMan basses. Gavins MusicMan data base

You know, it is thanks to you that our lefty bassplayer webite is taking more and more note. For myself I´m thinking that we get more attention form the industry than a few years before. Maybe I´m dreaming. What do you think?

The magazines for bassplayers are supporting us more than I ever thought! Thanks to the German music magazines "Gitarre and Bass" and "Bass Professor"! You will find all reports here: Reports

This bass is from the area lefthanded basses only were build by coustom order:

It´s my new vintage bass - a lefty 63 Burns Bison bass! Details later!

Help! Who was the lefty bassplayer of Billy Idol on "The Devil’s Playground Tour 2006"???

"Stephen McGrath" (thanks to Kevin Salt!)

.

Thanks for visiting this website and

please let me know if there is something new in the lefthand bassplayer scene!
